That "except" is the root of all this evil.

Do you need to tell people there are exceptions, excuses, to take life?

I take your point, but this does show our self-appointed religious expert and defender of two faiths that extrajudicial killings are not permitted in one of the faiths he, along with the psychopaths who murdered innocent people at Charlie Hebdo, purports to defend.

It's very subtle, but the fact the qualifier goes on to separate "justice" and "the law" gives those who think they are "justified" the right to take life even if "the law" doesn't apply. Justice can be viewed as more personally applicable/loaded than law, especially when presented in a religious context, don't you think.

(Furthermore, 'Islamic Law' is a different kettle of fish to our western legal laws. Therefore, taken in context, it's saying go and kill anyone that you feel needs to be killed in order for my teachings to have any meaning. Circular argument.)

Sure, but it is "justice and the law" not "justice or the law" - it is 'both...and' not 'either ... or'. There are teachings in Islamic law that Muslims living as a minority in non-Muslim countries must obey the law of the land they live in.

OK if that's your take on it, very generous. But, if, say, you were given a ticket that enabled you to go to Cyprus and Greece, then by the use of "and" there's no implied obligation to visit both, is there? Same above; the use of "and" doesn't oblige you to expect both "justice" and "the law" to apply at the same time. They are separable in religion, surely? Again, otherwise why not just simply say "the law"?

There are teachings in Islamic law that Muslims living as a minority in non-Muslim countries must obey the law of the land they live in.

Where, please? Koran? Sharia?

Tim, you’re running around like a headless chicken trying to justify the pathetic existence of a filthy publisher who made it his life’s goal to spread hatred and ill feeling around the world. I assure you that he doesn’t deserve your time, effort, or sympathy!

Also, in doing so you miss the greater picture… the most important thing right now is that peace be restored between the world’s two greatest religions; Christians and Muslims.

The EU *must* therefore crack down on all such racist outlets ASAP or we’re doomed!

If we fail, the Zionists get their way and that spells death to mankind and Bible prophecy fulfilled. You’d better believe it…

Is there anyone else in France who wants to publish insulting caricatures?

Any more brave ones out there who think are immune from persecution and can defile God at will? :?

With an ever increasing Muslim population in France… let’s see you try that again tough guys!

There is no God.

Is there a Tim Drayton?
