Cyprus' racism is pretty mild but as you travel further north of Europe it escalates pretty badly so be warned…

Good news and bad news.

bad news - the ban applies to all eu countries
good news - the ban may be only for 2 years depending on your circumstances, it depends on how long you overstayed.

here is more info.

sometimes people forget what life is like in some parts of the world. all restrictions should be removed. if the rich world gave a fair deal to the poor world in trade and resources there would be no need for anybody to move on economic grounds.

Thank you Mr. Lordo. But you know, the immigration authority didn't give me any documents about entry ban, not even in the passport wrote something. And I was sure there will be a band for me to enter Cyprus but I didn't know that this ban would be applied to all EU States. Because Cyprus is not a schengen country. But now I think it is for whole EU. I submitted my visa application in Swedish embassy, dhaka to go Poland. But they rejected me. And after 5 months I went to India and there i submitted my visa application to the Polish Embassy. But again rejected me when they saw a stamp from Sweden embassy. And always same official reason they give from both embassy "the intention to leave the territory of member states couldn't be ascertain". There are eleven official reason indicates in the rejection letter and they give a tick only on this reason. Anyway, sorry to everybody for writing such a big paragraph. If somebody know how can I lift the ban. And some readers wrote me to go in another country or continent. For them I am telling that I must go to Poland, neither Cyprus, nor anywhere else.thanks.

How do you know that your rejection is related to what happened in Cyprus? It might or it might not be. Basically you don't have a legal right to enter EU. What they are telling you is that in order to allow you to enter EU they need to be sure that you will LEAVE EU. So they must be convinced that you are a tourist, on a business trip etc in order to allow you to temporarily enter. If they suspect that you are an immigrant then they will reject you. If you want to enter EU as an immigrant then probably you should do certain other things BEFORE applying for visa ... like having a contract for a job, a work permit etc.

I, too, suspect that it may simply, and unfortunately, be very hard for a Bangladeshi national to obtain an EU visa.

And don't you forget it Turk! We are extremely racist!

And it's 5 years you idiot and that rule applies to Cyprus. You have to be civilized to be a country and I am afraid the "tnuc" is not a country.

Few Cypriots are racist. Even there are racist in Bangladesh too.Nicosia has more racist than Limassol. Racist everywhere. Anyway,,Cyprus doesn't apply any positive rules for the third country foreigner either legal or illegal. Even if you live in Cyprus legally for 12 years, you will not get anything. Normally they do not give chance to live legally for so many years. And yes, Australians are the most racists nation.

So, do you think Poles are not racist? Think again...

This guy Zaheer tried to abuse the legal system of a EU country and got himself banned from the EU for life I think. He said, that after he got away from his "wife" of 45 days, divorced perhaps, he became illegal immigrant, which he would have been given a matter of few days for him to leave Cyprus on his own, but I think what really happened after he got caught by chance on a road traffic control he was arrested and kept in jail for 20 days before being kicked out as a criminal after his legal hearing was over. No doubt his "wife" of 45 days told the police it was a sham marriage, which would have added more negative weight to his already legal problems. So no matter which EU countries embassy he goes to to get a visa to enter even as a tourist, chances are he will be denied entry, because he cannot be trusted to leave the country when he is suppose to, which he will not leave at all from past experience, and if he was deported from Cyprus with a criminal record, he has very little chance entering any country in the west, let alone just to the EU, not unless he has become very rich since being kicked out of Cyprus.

Nothing nasty about it at all.

The guy admitted that he entered into a marriage of convenience just to get a VISA. This is criminal activity in most countries.

When things did not work out, he tried to stay illegally and was caught by the cops. He was deported after 20 days.

Now he has to face the repercussions. It's not just the EU that may have banned him. Australia, Canada, and USA will NEVER let him in either. He would be refused entry at the Airport and sent on his way on the first available.

I told you before that the law has no compassion and other countries have a right to enforce their laws.

The individual is obviously an immigration risk, and any country will protect itself from such a risk. It's up to them who they allow in and this guy has not made a very good case for himself because his dishonesty is proven.

There are thousands of law abiding individuals who apply for VISAS each year, and each case is evaluated on an individual basis and on its own merits.
