...indeed, it is not the Bankers which show their solidarity for the Universal Principals, Europeans embraced as a Union, and in effect, its Currency.

It is hard to accept, in Greece, that the collection of these debts, includes those onerous. What with the meltdown of Finance around the world, the Banks too, are not entirely credible. Easy to assume things are fine the way they are, the rules are the rules, but those rules were tested and broken. Indeed, it is Greece which leads, although at this moment it is Germany in control.

...indeed, without new thinking it does not bode well for Europe, as much as Greece. Where Greece goes, Europe will follow.

Why blame the banks? For the rest of the world outside of Europe it's business as usual thanks to our stable Banking system.

You know, some responsibility has to be leveled at Greece here. They should have done something years ago to balance the budget and their inaction has just made things worse.

Also, New Democracy had forecast about 3% in GDP growth. I noticed that Syriza's actions have resulted into another slide into recession. That's not smart. Greece will need a major haircut for this pay off. Otherwise it's the biggest con in history should lenders stick to their guns.

Perhaps Greece ought to seriously consider the ...introduction of Income Tax
To Greeks, paying Income Tax is anathema. Mind you they are experts at putting the blame on everyone else but them selves.

Milty, you don't know what you are talking about. To every human being paying income tax has been anathema - talk to my British plumbers and electricians doing their 'business' over the last twenty years. Not to mention the tax-avoiding comedians, singers and actors all flooding to tax havens!

Meanwhile, we (hubby and me) have had to do tax returns in Greece for the last several years since we have had a house there whether we earn an income there or not. Good job too as it turns out many a Brit/German has built himself a pool or garage and not ..... declared it!

The only problem with Greeks is that they are so self-critical that they highlight those things others hide and keep in the closet.

I doubt it.

There's the Chinese who will still be shopping for luxury German cars. I don't think Europe will follow Greece.

Portugal, Spain and Italy have declining unemployment and are transitioning to surplus. Who is right and who is wrong will be evident in the near future.?

Dave is tripping again, apparently the cigarettes say they were never European, except in Greece where they are grown beautifully.

Has Merkel allowed the creation of Concentration camps again? Deadlier than those of her Nations' Father?

Why are we all ignoring how the 1% have taken control. The bankers. They don't care who they destroy in their search for easy money. If Greece gets away from the bankers' clutches - Cyprus will be next - then Ireland - then Portugal - then Poland etc.

Still, a Greece outside the tent is more creative. Maybe Greece can only save the 'known world' when it's free...
