This was behind Tsipras' back, surely, whilst he was busy signing pipeline deals in Russia.

How sneaky!

I hope they don't expect those unasked for cash deposits back ...

They will ask and get it back with a nice tidy interest rate on top, or they will boot Greece out of the EU and Eurozone which will be devastating to Greece in the short term.

As for the long term, no one really knows if Greece will be better off. It's a guessing game.

And you're on sleeping pills. Here's what happened. Where does it say they had Tsipras' permission to reload the banks?

It's bankers making the decisions!!!

The ECB took the unusual move to raise its emergency liquidity assistance (ELA) twice in the space of three days as a further €1.2bn fled the financial system on Friday. The ceiling on ELA was reportedly raised by €1.8bn according to reports, and came following a request from the Bank of Greece.
The Frankfurt-based central bank took the drastic action after its officials warned European finance ministers that Greece's banks may not be open for business on Monday.
Telegraph

They are supporting the Greek Banks which are experiencing a massive Bank Run.

If the Greek Banks run out of cash, then Greeks will not be able to withdraw, and this is likely to lead to massive civil unrest unseen since the 50s.

I don't think the Eu will kick Greece out. What the finance minister is saying makes good sense. In order for Greece to be able to meet its obligations in terms of the loan is for its economy to grow. In order for the economy to grow it needs stimulus from europe or from the budget surplus accumulated because of the reforms.

The EU will never kick Greece out! I'm sick of the number of times I've repeated that. Let's get that message out and concentrate on removing power from the bankers and restoring it back to the common people!

Greece ... and Cyprus too as a matter of fact ... are two of only a handful of European states that can live under a truly autarky system but they have us under subjugation because our neighbour is warmongering Turkey.

If only Turkey would realise how good life would be for them if they didn't try and destroy us but lived in harmony and co-operation with us. Fools!

actually that is what greece does. but there is a positve side to all this. greece will be kicked out of euro and eu because you cannot have a member so irresponsible in the eu to default on her debts, otherwise all the ones with debt will want to do it. the plus side of course and there is a plus side always is terggy will now come in to the eu to represent the area.

how the hell do you blame terggy for the mess your people have got in. you mind is just water.

Do you really think so?

They are playing Russian Roullette, and the Grexit is on the cards if there is no agreement.

Either Greece has to sign an agreement at the eleventh hour, or it will default and they will cut Greece loose.

There is no projected short term growth.

The 3% growth forecast just got downgraded back down to recession levels.

I agree that Greece needs stimulus but who is going to pay for it. The Europeans are demanding major reform if they are to put up the cash.

If Greece has no bail out money by the end of the month, then there will be a Bank Default. What happens after that is anyone's guess but at the very least there will be Capital Controls.

The funny thing is, that a default might be good for Greece. We saw this occur in Iceland and Argentina. But the bad thing is that Greece will be out of the Eurozone and possibly out of the EU.

It's Russian Roullette.

I predict that the Tsipras Government will fall shortly after any default. ND will be back in power and they will do whatever they can to avoid the GREXIT.
