Cuban-US relations changed today with the simultaneous announcement by Castro and Obama in their respective Capitals, that their relations will be normalised.
...Americans for the first time in five decades will be free to travel, and to trade, with their neighbours, and for many, their families, just 90 miles offshore.
Much opposition is likely, because the deal does not include any promises directly related to a freer Press, Opposition Parties, or the Freedoms that Cubans will enjoy, with this change.
...it is hopeful, that after a period of time as long, Turkey too will realise that it is hurting itself because it continues to deny the existence of Cyprus; a giant compared to their adversary, similarly. Cuba and Cyprus cannot be compared politically, however, without the dialog and respectful recognition of their differences, for Turkey, (and for Cyprus,) no progress can be achieved, this should seem just as clear by now, and what should be a prosperous relationship is a burden, which festers like a wound.
