cypezokyli, my kids are in their 20's and speak their Mothers tounge and English, what do you think they have been taught about Greeks or GC's?

i would really hope that u have teached them also turkish. and i am not making fun now. i really believe that bilingual kids are advantaged.

by the way, do your kids also live/ study in osnabrück? thats kind of far from me, but if they are kind of more south we could meet.

ms , the "good turk dead turk" are indeed found in the cyprus army usually in the LOKatjides. i ve seen them as well, and its not that long that i finished the army. but that deserves as much attention as one wants to give to it. if one wants to overstress that then he can just go on the green line and comment on the day-to-day swearing at each others mother. there, gc and tc/turks dont really differ from each other.

so eric is indeed right, but i disagree with the importance he gives to the subject.

i dont know if such things exist in the turkish army...but i wouldnt be surprised.

besides the army is just a low IQ experience. the ones who use to shout at us "common girls is that how you are going to free kyrenia" were the first sitting comfortable enjoying their pitta with souvlaki and sheftalia during the national anthem...thats the point were one wakes up and start counting days

Hey guys why are we just bashing our heads against a brick wall and going around in circles, Piratis and a few others are a lost cause they will never show flexiblity and a real will to address the complexities of the Cyprus issues, they will always be in the OXI group and continue to chant their no 1 song.

The same goes for you Viewpoint.

The difference between you and me is that I insist on human rights, legality and democracy, and you insist on human rights violations, illegality and the racist separation of people.

Will we ever agree? Definitely not. Should I sacrifice the principles of democracy and human rights in order to agree with you? Definitely not. Should you finally adopt the principles of the civilized world and agree with me? Definitely yes, but you are unable.

Source just brings a smile to my face and I can imagine having Sheftali with him one day whilst listening to my collection of original Bob Marley LPs.

You know Bob Marley died an Orthodox Christian? Infact, Marcus Garvey (the first / second most important figure in Rastafariansim) set up the Orthodox Church in Jamaica and Makarios even did a mass Christening of 20,000 Ugandans. Its nice to know why you are so nationalistic Zan, the country you think is so angelic, Turkey, has a history or fiercly opressing the religion of the man who you own so many original LP's of.

Did you also know that whilst Nelson Mandela was in power of South Africa...he minimalised relations with Turkey because he saw a comparison of their state with that of the South African state that he was fighting against.

and they wanna call a football tournament in the occupied side of Cyprus the 'Nelson Mandela Cup' lol.

By the way, do you own any of Robert Nestor Marley's album's from his early Trojan Records time? or are they the later, more well known Island Records series.

As for me, im quite a big fan of the Abassynians, Erol Dunkley, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Freddie McGregor etc.

Piratis the difference between us is that you have venom in your heart and a thirst for revenge. All you want is land, wealth and to reduce us to a minority status, making Cyprus a Greek state . Your arguements for human rights and legalities is pathetic, your like a broken record over and over stuck in a groove, your arguement for Cypriotism is also questionable, where were all these arguements during the 50, 60, 70s all of a sudden you have become Cypriots and are the champion of human rights and legalities.

My arguements are firstly the safety of my community above all and then bizonality and political equality to avoid being reduced to a minority in my own homeland. If wanting the above is not acceptable to you and your idea of human rights and legalities then yes we will never agree anything.

You have to come to terms with the reality that if you continue your current mindset GCs will never return to the north, unless as you say the balance of power swings in your favor, but dont hold your breath.

You should adopt more flexible attitude and realize that this is the only way forward by negotiating with TCs to create a united Cyprus.

Or alternatively you could continue to chant your song and see how far that takes you.

Who has venom is you. It is you that you want to keep people out of their own homes, not me. What bad thing have I ever done to any TC? All I ask for is human rights, democracy and legality.

All you want is land, wealth and to reduce us to a minority status, making Cyprus a Greek state

What I want is the land that belongs to us. If you don't care about land, then why don't you return the land that you stole from us?

Your arguements for human rights and legalities is pathetic

Who are pathetic are the barbarians that insist on human rights violations on the 21st century, not me.

where were all these arguements during the 50, 60, 70s all of a sudden you have become Cypriots and are the champion of human rights and legalities.

I was not born at that time. Do I deserve a punishment because of what some others did before I was born? If this is the case you deserve 100 times more punishment since your crimes are not only during the 50,60 and 70, but also for 3 centuries before that PLUS the 70,80,90, and until today you insist on violating our human rights.

My arguements are firstly the safety of my community above all and then bizonality and political equality to avoid being reduced to a minority in my own homeland.

Your safety can not be achieved by violating the human rights of others. 18% is a minority. Only a low IQ person would claim that 18% is not a minority compared to the 82%.

You have to come to terms with the reality that if you continue your current mindset GCs will never return to the north, unless as you say the balance of power swings in your favor, but dont hold your breath.

What reality? That 18% is not a minority and that horses are green? You are the one who is out of touch with reality my friend.

The only thing that you have is guns that can force violations of human rights. Absolutely nothing more than that.

You should adopt more flexible attitude and realize that this is the only way forward by negotiating with TCs to create a united Cyprus.

Negotiate? Is there any way that you will accept all refugees to return to their homes and respect our human and democratic rights? How can we negotiate when you reject even the most basic principles that exist in all other democratic countries in the world? What will be the basis of negotiations? On how much you will violate our human rights? No thanks.

Back to the thread topic:
"Is winning a war the only way GC refugees can return?"

I guess the answer is "yes", since nobody has even proposed an alternative way, and the TCs refuse to respect our human rights.

Piratis we are going around in circles and getting nowhere,, lets just agree to disagree and see where that gets us. We are both typical Cypriots and the reason why we will never solve anything and the current situation will continue for a very long time to come.

Good luck with planning your war.

So is war the only way that all refugees can return? So if Turkish Cypriots will have their own state they will always limit the amount of Greek Cypriots that can live there? Even after 50 years? I know that in the USA there is no such limitations for the people.

there is no way that all refugees can return. (the number can be high though)
accepting that is the only way to a solution though.

war is not a solution to any problem of the 21st century

there is no way that all refugees can return.

Why? Don't all of them have the right to return? Shouldn't the human rights be respected in the 21st century? :?
