Take the best things Cyprus produces put them into one product and make it the best in the world.... I came up with ravioles... There's a Cypriot company in Limassol that produces the best Cypriot cheese (haloumi, mizithra and other stuff)ravioles, he freezes packages them and sells them to local grocery stores...unbelievably delicious...

As a regular consumer of ...ameletita I can vouch for their beneficial and invigorating effect on the male libido. Forget Viagra, stick to archidia, numero uno aphrodisiac for men, I don't know about women though

Strange phenomenon. We are 35000 Cypriots on Greece, and not one Cypriot deli. When we meet we all talk about things we miss- real coffee, KEAN, smoked meats etc. The local outlets have ersatz halloumi and sometimes carry kolokasi. There are fewer Cypriot products in Athens than London, despite the weekly ship connection and several flights daily.

Or is it that I have not looked hard enough?

One potential Cyprus winner is Hiromeri. Done right it can trounce Spanish Jamon, Italian Prosciutto, French Bayonne ham.

I'm not a big eater and being a diabetic I have to watch what I eat, however when I Cyprus I ...leave diabetes behind and indulge in foods that normally I would avoid.

There are numerous diabetes friendly foods one can eat such as fresh vegetables salads and of course charcoaled ameletita , karaolous, louvana, all accompanied by none other than zivania.I particularly enjoy fresh artichokes when in season, a few repania, aggouraki and a little yogurt. Avocado pears are also an excellent food drenched in olive oil, vinegar and mixed with yogurt.

Olives are also Diabetes friendly and delicious too and are a good accompaniment to any food. The stalks of broccoli with a little salt and lemon are ...therapeutic in many ways and delicious too.

By the way, why is it that the Greeks end almost all as "aki" ie "neraki, psomaki , psaraki etc and yet aggouraki is aggouri !!
