I am starting to answer my own questions anyway - Google is your friend - it seems that BoC will start trading again on the Cyprus and Athens exchanges in December:

Don't buy straight away. Expecting it to dip in the short term once it lists. It's trading at 17 cents right now.

Thanks for the advice. I have been buying and selling shares for most of my life and have an idea how these things work. There will probably be a bout of selling, either initially or following an initial peak, as those who want/have to get out have the opportunity to do so. This will create a buying opportunity.

My concern is that I have never traded on the Cyprus stock exchange before and wonder how I would best go about it. Frankly, I do not hold lawyers in Cyprus in high regard based on experience. This makes me wary about trusting other professionals here like stockbrokers. How right am I to be wary? Which firms can I trust?

For quite a few years now I have had an account with an international trading platform that allows me to buy and sell shares on about 15 leading global exchanges at the click of a mouse, and I must say that I like this way of trading without human involvement, given than humans are prone to make errors or interfere by giving advice. The commission is also very low, obviously, because the costs of operating this way are cheaper. I wonder if it is possible to trade on the Cyprus exchange through such an online platform.

I used to run an institutional electronic brokerage out of London that gave our clients 25+ exchanges from one trading acct so you're not impressing me mate

Seriously there's a few respectable brokerages here that you can trade with. Argus stockbrokers are an excellent firm that belong to a large foreign holdings with a professional trading desk. Try them out.

Thanks for the tip. I may start doing some serious research into local brokerages. I am pretty addicted to the Toronto venture exchange these days, so we will have to see if I can break that addiction!
