Any recommendations for local Paphos taxi firms that do airport runs? I assume it's more expensive to just grab a taxi at the airport when I fly in rather than pre booking one?

From what I've heard - and maybe its changed - the Paphos airport taxi drivers have the business stitched up and do not permit outside taxi firms to come and pick up there, an arrangement that is backed up with physical violence if necessary. Perhaps I am misinformed.

Stevies taxis pick up from the airport......google them their prices are "reasonable"....

They also had a reputation for not running on the meter and charging well over the odds and being a tad aggressive when challenged.

The taxi drivers do not like any car picking up or dropping off at the airport, even those of family members, not a nice place at all.

Actually, my two sisters flew into Paphos a few years ago and wanted to come to my address in Limassol by taxi and I explained the situation at Paphos airport as I knew it, but they insisted on contacting a taxi driver in Limassol who they had used regularly in the past and trusted, and I know that he came an picked them up - but in his private car - so, where there is a will there is a way.
