Documents to purchase in cyprus

Postby claireizz » Wed Nov 05, 2014 2:36 pm

Could someone confirm what documents I will need to purchase a property in cyprus? I am purchasing a holiday apartment and am a UK national. Some places say passport and proof of address, others seem to say birth certificate. Is the latter necessary?

If you have the money your passport is enough. Now of course somewhere your UK address will be required and if you have proof then great, but I don't think it is necessary.

Please check that the title deeds are available and that there is no mortgage on the property.

Thank you, I was given that advice and have posted a separate topic asking about a good independent lawyer in the Paphos area to ensure that this is the case.

Thank you, I have posted separately regarding an independent lawyer recommendation as I do not wish to be pushed into using any lawyer recommended by the real estate agent.

Nigel Howarth is an expert on buying property in Cyprus. I suggest you study his website for information about property in Cyprus.
