I don't have the oreksi for debate.
I'm enjoying reading the comments though.

Ebola is not my field of expertise.
All I know is it came from your 'Give Africa A Chance'.

We are not really discussing Ebola-the-science, are we? That's pretty straight forward and boring if we were. It's just another viral disease that surfaces every so often. Kills a few people, sells some newspapers or increases online clicks.

It's whether we (our politicians) choose to treat it (the disease) and remove it (virus) from circulation (e.g. smallpox - now a great bio-weapon threat to our children ) or allow it to fester and use it to "control" populations like some other diseases have been (e.g. TB, malaria, leprosy etc).

What do you think? As an ex-African?

This is actually a lot bigger than the media are letting on.

I have it on good authority that dozens of people are actually in quarantine in Oz and the Government is suppressing the information to not cause hysteria or panic in the community. They intend to let the cat out of the bag if and when they get a confirmed case or multiple cases.

In Cape Town, there are commercials on tv telling people how to wash their hands regularly, not eat cold Meats, and how to identify Ebola like symptoms. I presume (I don't know for sure) that Ebola is now in South Africa and information there is suppressed.

In light of this, I also believe (don't know for sure) that countries with connecting flights such as the US, Canada, UK, and many Western European EU countries and also other African and Middle Eastern countries are infected. Greece, Cyprus and Italy are not immune.

Seems to me that the only way to contain this disease is to quarantine all of Western Africa (no one gets out) and at the same time assist them with aid and medical assistance.
