Russians, Greeks, Israelis, everyone is making exercises...

...seems to be quite a fuss, and not just pure coincidence, all with the recognition (and permission) of Cyprus, as in the Republic; must be a disappointment for the Turks to see this party, more ignored, without having been invited to join.

rw terggy does not need an invitation to her eez. she can manage it all by herself. when it comes to russian or any other ships it is for show so anasdasiades can save face and rejoin the talks but i am afraid he will find nothing there. it is over. the show has ended and the curtain has closed for the last time. no more intermissions.

...in this case it is Turkey that does not exist, Cyprus on the other hand, does exist, and the rest of the world knows it.

don't worry Lordo, the talks are not over, but Turkey will go too far, as she is apt to do.

terggey is not going anywhere rw, she does what the boss says and everything is ok. but the tcs have lost interest, they can go on talking for ever. you will never get another yes vote out of the tcs in a million years.

...i think people realise which side their bread is buttered on. it is as i said, Erdogan will go too far, with his bully ways, and with what he expects.

...it is not therefore the "Greeks" who will get a yes vote as you say Lordo, it is the "Turks" who got a yes vote, and who will not get another one, the Greeks, as in the vast majority of the population may get a yes vote if they ask for it, when it is clear that Cyprus counts, but so far the only proposal that came to referendum did not make that clear.

you must appreciate that not everyone north or south of the Green Line follows what Turkey has in mind for itself.

...were you expecting death, for your amusement? what, you think Turkey's shiny bauble and two tin cans amounts to an assault that requires the mobilisation of Navies? she tarnishes her own image internationally, the rest of the world is not into that game, not here at least, and Turkey has a long way to go before she can say "her" EEZ is worth something too. you are very impatient, i think, "you" have not even begun to drill. maybe the water will arrive by then, when "you've" found oil too, that would be nice, "you'll" have water and "you'll" have oil, just like the so called "Greeks", if Erdogan pleases, i suppose.

Who is going to defend etc, obviously you do not follow the news. A large air-sea-land exercise involving Cypriot, Greek and Israeli forces is underway right now, Greek and Israeli jets landed and were resupplied in Paphos. Paratroops were dropped in two places in Cyprus. Additionally Russian ships are just off the coast. No one is willing to let the Turks call the shots on the area's natural resources.

Notice how the tune changed. Last year Turkey disputed the ownership of the EEZ, directly claiming part of it. That changed mucho rapido when the Americans pulled the plug. Now Turkey claims to be acting on behalf of the TCs. And that can be easily dealt with by setting up a trust for the TC share of the gas revenues.

They are running out of buttons to press. They are not scaring anyone anymore, all their neighbors will be glad to see them stumble. The zero problems policy has turned into a zero policy. In international politics bombast can turn you into a joke very fast. That US diplomat who had described the policy as "Rolls Royce ambitions and Rover capabilities" had a point.
