Yes!

My own people sometimes disgust me. I call it the great bastardization and blame the Ottoman and Balkan influences because Cypriots were never like that in the old days.

We even have a Church that is the biggest landowner in Greece and Cyprus. Does anyone ask how this came to be after 4 Centuries of Ottoman Oppression and occupation?

And then we go to Greek School and they try to tell us that a Greek Priest started the Greek Revolution imish!

And people like you have a LOT to do with Cyprus' problems. Not only by your copious, erroneous posts against Cyprus Airways, or from your selective complaints about coffee charges, nor yet your flaunting of property matters - all these were BAD press for Cyprus (even if wrong) and you helped form every excuse used to hit Cyprus - but also via your perpetual denial of the culpability of TCs in the continuing occupation of Cyprus.

Don't bring your whingeing British habits to Cyprus! Take them to Belarus! :P

See this is the kind of Bastardisation I am talking about but at least she admits she is a half cast!

You can't keep bury you head in the send and hope the problem just goes away. If we don't talk about the issues then Bastardisation will continue unchecked!

Well Well !!! My dear young lady. Both my parents, grandparents great grandparents and beyond were Cypriots, not only Cypiots but Paphites !!

To critisize certain unsavoury practices in Cyprus can not be misconstrued as detrimental to the interests of Cyprus, on the contrary Cyprus needs more people such as I and Paphitis, both of whom love Cyprus but not the ugly part of it, such as corruption and bird trapping.

I do not critisize T/Cs because I consider them a part of Cyprus having been on the island for generations.

By the way how did you know im going to Belarus ??? Flying there on Friday to visit my ....wife

Arrived as scheduled, but two hours late, having sat on the aircraft, apparently thunderstorms in Germany and Holland held back most flights out of Gatwick if flying over these two countries.

I love Minsk, especially now, Christmas time  Streets decorated with Xmas lights I had to double check my calendar, make sure it was not October 10th !! They love their lights in Belarus and so anxious to start the Christmas festivities earlier than most other Christian countries.

Somehow the bright sunshine, around 20c, gave it away as usually and guaranteed Xmas is always a white Christmas in the whole of this landlocked country that produces the worlds most gorgeous females as well as one of the very few countries, I think, that one does not have to insert a coin in a supermarket trolley, you see there are no coins in Belarus just notes and notes and notes. There are 13340 Belarus rubbles to the euro.

The capital of Belarus is Minsk, a city of about 2 million, most of them ....gorgeous females

Casinos are everywhere, mostly Russians and , Yes, Turks. You will see the Turkish flag in most hotel receptions, I did ask why isn't the Cypriot flag shown, the young receptionist told me that there are no Cypriots staying at the hotel but if I bring a Cyprus flag next time it will be flown !

Cyprus is called Kipper, sound a bit like ...rengga !!

Going for my early walk now admiring the wonderful architecture of Minsk, a library that exists no where else in the world and heavily illuminated with revolving lights in symmetrical order creating different shapes of lights.

the smallest mote being just 50 BYR , not long ago they also had a 20 and a 10 .

Have a good time wherever you are, Milty mou. :)

My number one hate at the moment is meeting thick, stupid, greedy, carpetbaggers who think Cyprus is a joke and they are having a laugh "buying" "turkish-deed" properties in the "turkish part" of Cyprus.

Yes S, mine too. I have to say that I have never in 53 years of living in the UK ever encountered such anti G/C attitudes.

I'm pleased however that I challenge them at every occasion. Most hate my guts but I suppose the feeling in mutual.

I'm having a good time in Minsk admiring the Soviet architecture, all new buildings since Minsk was mostly grazed to the ground by the Nazis in WW2. Earlier this morning I took a walk along a busy thoroughfare, somehow I managed to get ...lost but after asking a few people, none spoke English, I found my way back. My other third welcomed me back with a ....glass of wine :D

I did the same; becoming increasingly intolerant of his total ignorance. He was saved by his wife. :P He's only the second Brit that has openly admitted (through wanting to boast at having a 'holiday home abroad' ) to 'purchasing' property in this way. The other one, a few years back, was saved on account of regretting his mistake, but this one, yesterday, was soooo stupid! He asked me if I was born in the north or the south of Cyprus - blooming cheek! Except, he seemed to think I was under 40 years old - as I said, he's stupid! :P

There's something totally romantic about that somber soviet style, isn't there? Like reading Brave New World or 1984 and escaping into another world and time. Enjoy, and stay away from their policemen. :)

Ive just returned from the paradise island. I think the hire company will need a lie down when they view the mileage we did - 1600kms in a week.

I use the best kit money can buy to protect me on my motorcycle. The Cypriots choose, a tshirt, flip flops and a crash..... hat

The one thing I say constantly, I just want to go back :(
