Turkish Cypriots close the Pergamos gates

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Turkish Cypriots close the Pergamos gates

Postby Sotos » Tue Dec 06, 2005 12:38 pm

According to Politis newspaper the Turkish Cypriots have closed the Pergamos gates. The excuse given was the limitation of illegal trade. Why do they make all this noise about Ledras then?

Sotos,

The main gate in Pargamos is still open. There are two gates in Pergamos; one for the general public to use, i.e. the TC workers, the GCs, tourists, etc. and the other one for the Turkish Cypriot residents of Pyla for quick access to their village. The gate that they closed is the one for the Pyla residents. The Pyla villager will now need to use the main gate just like everyone else. I don't know if the second gate will be opened. There are serious complaints about human smuggling and illegal trade in the area.
