Every single Cypriot in the UK on this forum, apart from ZoC and bill cobbett (sort of an Englishman), are just so anti UK, England and English!
BUT, get this, the morons choose to live there!
I mean really, they have to be tremendously stupid to live in a country they hate so much. And if they went there by accident, then why not just move back to Cyprus, Turkey, Albania, or Mongolia where I am sure they will get reconnected back to their roots and find their happiness.
So what gives Charlies?
I have wrestled with this question and freely admit that many of my psychological problems come from this contradiction. Why do I want to tear down the country that I live in and so enjoy? But flip the question, how can Britain become anti-imperialist? If reactionary anger is not going to do it, what is?
You hit the nail on the head! How can you live in a country, enjoy its fruits and criticize and even hate it so spitefully? It's an interesting question and just so non Hellenic.
If Alexander the Great was alive he would be disgusted. Yes he was an imperialist but there was never any hatred for the "enemy".
Britain is not imperialist.
