Wall Street Journal seems to be stirring it. Apparently Turkey's hands are tied, so it's been claimed, because of the 49 hostages held by ISIS. Some question how endangered the 49 are however and that their "plight" is Turkey's get-out.

I reckon a base in a small relatively stable country would do nicely - but at a price.

i like your idea of democracy. terkey must do what ever usa says or they are not democratic. you uncivilised idiots.

if only the usa can fark off from this region and take their best guard dog israel with them. if only. and then we shall have peace. but what chance of that.

Turkey is in NATO, it is obliged by treaty to help its allies. Erdo is getting too big for his boots, he wants to be Sultan of the Middle East.

really, i did not realise usa was attacked and they needed terkish help. what an idiotic suggestion. it can only come from a true charlui.

the best thing the yanks can do is pack up including their fleet and leave the area. then we shall have peace.

if Turkey was against ISIL or whatever IS or ISIS is called, they would act, with or without NATO, or the USA. frankly it appears as though Turkey is toothless, because they do nothing, and in doing so demonstrate their powerlessness against the extremist elements in their own midst, Erdogan being an Islamist himself.

...Turkey should be at war with these Islamists, what of the hostages?

...yes Jerry, it seems that there will be a Caliphate in Istanbul, and in Ankara, Erdogan will be the protectorate of all Muslims around the world. there will be Equality, a balance to Western values so to speak, from Sharia Law. we see the template being set, in Cyprus, those who are "Turkish", and those who are not. we see how perpetual war will work, where it is "Peace" that is temporary, when the lines they draw are respected, and the Tribute they demand is paid.

Idiot yourself, NATO considers itself threatened by ISIS and the Yanks are asking Erdo for help. The treaty Turkey has signed obliges them to help but the we all know that Turkey never keeps its word.
