YES or NO ?

Postby GreekIslandGirl » Thu Sep 11, 2014 4:12 pm

Scotland is going to vote in a referendum on the 18th of September and this could lead to them breaking away from the UK.

Of interest here as that some think there are undertones that could impinge on the future of other states.

- So if you lived in Scotland, how would you vote?

YES to break away from the UK and freedom from English rule?

Or, NO as staying together is preferable?

Mention some reasons for your choice ....

One would need to know all the pros and cons to make an informed, rational, and unbiased decision, so I’ll refrain from voting! :)

Get rid of the Scots and there's nothing much else left of the UK.

Like that's stopped you before. :P I thought you were so keen on Cyprus having the right to self-determination, away from Greece?

- It's about voting from the heart or the head, I'd say.

I have voted NO, as I beleive that Scotland is as much a part of the UK as England is. United we stand divided......

That would be a typical mistake of the masses…

I hope someone in Scotland has done some research and listed all the pros and cons (both ways) for their perusal, or this could end in tragedy sometime in the future.

This is a rubbish referendum which shouldn't have been confined to the Special Brew drinkers of places like Glasgow.

... should have included Danelaw and Mercia and Northumberland and the Welsh of course, with a new border at about Watford.

:D

what you lot are worried about is if they leave uk then sooner or later trnc will also leave roc. you people have to learn to look after yourselves. forget about the tcs.

sad thing is scotland will not leave but sooner or later trnc will. even your president is now talking eroglu talk. when did you last hear a gc leader talk about two state solution.

So you are imagining that there is this thing called "trnc" which is now part of RoC but that it will leave in the future?  Scotland is something real that existed for centuries and the Scottish people are a native population. The "trnc" is just a label that the Turks give to the land that they illegally occupy and which doesn't belong to them.

Seems like they are going to vote "no" ... I don't know what is right for them now, but I hope that if they choose to vote "no" now that they reserve their right to hold another such referendum in the future.
