Again...the opposition to the coup would have eventually wiped the coupist out. There was from the first day strong resistance to the junta....

...i think if Turkey had stuck to the plan, she would have what she wants, Sovereign Bases in Cyprus, and a territory large enough to service her barracks. but, she got greedy and betrayed whatever was agreed to (on the premise that even the Junta is not stupid enough to ignore an adversary like her, and a NATO ally); the second invasion was just that, an illegal invasion.

indeed, Turkey did not have to act militarily either, in any case, or had she withdrawn with the return of Makarios, Cyprus, and a Cypriot identity would have been founded, (something like Canada's identity to Canadians i imagine; with the Cypriot Flag that flies higher,) something more would have been established, other than the empty Nationalism that serves no good purpose at the moment, except the deep state elements in any of these Countries.

...and, i imagine, with Turkey (lol, the 'littl' USA) as Cyprus' greatest ally.

facts speak for themselves. fact is even after 74 when magarios attended a meeting one of his supporters could be heard in the crowd shouting "ohi enosis". when magarios was asked about his suporter and what he was shouting he explained that this fellow was not saying "ohi ensosis" it was "ohi anohi".

surely there must be one piece of evidence where he actually says he is against enosis. its a bit like saying hitler at one point stopped hating the jews. this mind set does not change often. and when it does it is made obvious.
