Authorities in Cyprus have sounded the alarm after a letter warning became public. The “Armed Group for Justice” gave a last warning to several politicians and political parties in regards to their bill on home foreclosures, even threatening to kill them.
The letters, which were sent to Cypriot political leaders, are being examined in police forensic laboratories for handwriting analysis and DNA identification.
“The police force want to first take any precaution possible, so there is no chance to realize the threats,” said a police representative. Furthermore, he added that there is “no need to panic.”
As part of the precaution measures, the number of police officers outside the Cypriot Parliament building will increase, especially during the days when the parliamentary committees will make the final and very crucial decision.
Even though the letters were printed, police believe that there will be a way to find the criminal through forensic investigation.
