Why is the Greekness of Telly Savalas so important? From what I have read he had some good personal charteristics, but I do not think his Greekness made him any better an actor or a person.

It's the Greek Ottoman Banana Syndrome as I like to call it.

Clint Eastwood was a great actor and probably a great bloke and better than Telly maybe, but he wasn't Greek. He was an American so he lucked out there.

The same applies to actors that may have Jewish Inheritance. They may be great actors and great human beings but according to Kurupetos the clear underlying factor is that the actor is Jewish and therefore bad.

The correct term is racism but this type of mentality seems to be quite common amongst Greeks and Turks so there must be something genetic going on and that is why I call this syndrome the Greek Ottoman Banana Syndrome. Someone should do a study on it!
