Finally moving to Cyprus

Postby Baggieboy1 » Mon Aug 11, 2014 7:56 pm

After planning the move for something like 10 years my wife and I are finally moving on 5 September. This website was very useful during the planning stages (when I was "Baggieboy"), and gave me a good insight into how ex-pats are viewed (generally favourable as long as we don't whinge and try and change everything!)

We're not rich but are financially secure - which is why we waited this long - and can't wait to finally get there. Thanks again, and if any of you are around Paralimni we may bump into each other.

Kind regards,

Richie & Sue

How exciting! :D

All the very best to you, Richie and Sue.

Will you be working or enjoying a retirement?

Thanks GIG - We're lucky in that we don't need to work (hence the long planning period!), but I may have a bit of work lined up, and I'm probably going to help out at Paralimni Dog Shelter - heard too many horror stories of people ending up in the pub all day because they don't have anything else to do. But I think we may just soak up Cyprus for the first few weeks!

Cheeky little git! I haven't been to a pub for ages, it must have been last Thursday.

Preferred Orphanides baked beans actually - although doubt they exist anymore. Never been one for imported food when the local produce is superior.
