Lordo's comment is has interesting implications, ie a Turkish born imported person having more rights than a GC in Cyprus. Unfortunately it is a vew shared by many in the TC community.
We have a right to know the views of TC politician on this. They criticise the granting of TEMPORARY residence permits to 35000 mainland Greeks in the Roc, with no right to vote locally or nationally, yet they naturalise over one hundred thousand mainland Turks and demand that these people be regarded as citizens of Cyprus in the future settlement.
Perhaps to counter this we should demand an equal balancing right to naturalise an equal number of mainland Greeks and grant them voting rights or better still, such a number of Greeks that will represent the same proportion of colonists to TCs. That would be about 400 000 people roughly. These people will have the obligation to reside in Cyprus, just the right to vote. And if they are chosen from the island population of Greece, the sectin that has to live with daily air and sea violations by the Turkish navy and air force, things are going to get interesting.
