Stay strong - as you know it's all about buying time and you have that on your side with this condition. As you said, if men live long enough then all will show signs of prostate cancer. It's there in many, ticking away, silently. But the older you are when it surfaces then the slower it grows. At 68 years old, I should imagine you have a good decade and more before major problems (as you can guess from your similarly-aged GP friend who chose surveillance/monitoring). If you get it removed, you can forget about it altogether - and face each obstacle one at a time. If the worst came to the worst, are you really that concerned about incontinence? It's unlikely to be a problem after surgery in this day and age.
Less than a week ago, I lost my best friend, soul-mate, to lymphoma. She was so stoical, soldiered on ignoring her pain until nothing could be done. God doesn't answer prayers to atheists so it's all my own fault ...
Fight this, Milti mou!

Thank you gorgeous for a lovely post. Im having a bone scan soon in order to confirm the MRI and biopsy results that the cancer is localized in the prostate, then I will weigh up my options and do what I consider to be the best, following the extensive research I have been carrying out.
Incontinence and may I say... impotence, being a hot Cypriot male, are of concern but will overcome both, I'm sure of that.
Allow me to give you 3 xxx !!!
