My OH had an elevated PSA reading when we lived in Cyprus, he was put on tamsulosin to keep the swelling down to help the flow, he now gets regular checkups and recently three blood tests over six months to see IF the charts show an up or down change as it could indicate activity, his results are on Wednesday.
I have another incurable cancer myself and when undergoing treatment last year of chemotherapy followed by a month everyday of radiotheraphy I found myself ( the only women ) in the same waiting area as a group of fabulous men ranging in age from 45 to 81 all undergoing the same high intensity radiotheraphy which zapped our cancers! They all seemed really fine with it, even I was and every single one of them expected a cure, unfortunately my cancer isn't that easy to kill and at the moment it's asleep.
I know there are side effects Milti, for a man, not easy to accept BUT this is my opinion, IF my oncologist told me tommorow he could cure me by taking something vital away, I would grasp it so quickly you wouldn't breathe.....
Life is important and cures may come with issues, but I know what I'd wish for...
Go for it big time, don't even think about it....
If every man reading this just goes for a PSA blood test tomorrow then it's well worth you posting it....someone's life could be saved. My OH didn't tell me anything was wrong, having an en suite off the bedroom, I realised that his 'flow ' was changed, I made the appt straight after....nothing now will be too late...
