Hello
I am doing research of Cyprus old days, era 1980's or before Cyprus joined EU. I would like to know how would a Swedish UN officer travel from Larnaca to his base in Famagusta, by taxi from Larnaca? (Assume the Swedish UN officer is returning from holiday so no uniform, or does he always have to wear uniform on Cyprus soil? This is for a fiction.)
What I have found is: to travel by a private taxi from Larnaca to Dhekelia (the UK United Nations base), his identity checked, and then walk across the border to northern Cyprus, hire a Turkish taxi to his Famagusta base.
Would this be correct? Any correction will be appreciated. Thanks.
