Goosebumps...
I'm not sure how many clubs are in Europe, but to make it to the Quarter Finals of the Champions league...
Surely not a coincidence?

Yes it was a good achievement, but to rank them higher than Besiktas, Galatasaray, Werder Bremen, Lazio, Athletico Bilbao, and PSV Eindhoven is a huge farce.

I wouldn't do that even if they managed to beat any of those sides as a one of. It's like Australia beating Brazil or Germany. You can't claim that they are overall better than the Germans or Brazilians because that is not the case.

Further to this, just because England, Spain, and Italy failed to get beyond the group stage does not take away the fact that these teams still have a certain amount of pedigree to them, or claim that Greece is better because they managed to do so in the last minute. Likewise, if Australia beat Holland (which was on the cards) you still can't take away the fact that Holland is probably the best team in Europe along with the Germans.

Australia Beat a Greek Team largely made up of the players who won the 2004 Euro in 2006.

The Greeks had their first team out and the Greek Goalkeeper (man of the match) looked a bit bedazzled! :D

After winning the euro they were offered a trip to Australia as a freebie to them. Last thing on their mind after beating France, Portugal, the Czech Republic etc was playing seriously against that Sunday pub team you call an Aussie national side.

And was it a freebie? Did the Aussies pay for their trip? That's news to me. Surely they would prefer Brazil, Germany, or Spain. Never heard of the Aussies paying teams to visit!

Why come and disgrace themselves in front of 30,000 omogeneis Greek supporters and lose to a pub team from the EPL Seria A and Bundeslige of all leagues?

Are you saying the Greek Team has no respect for the Diaspora?

Here is a the Australian pub team the Euro Champ lost too:

John Aloisi - Osasuma
Tim Cahill - Everton
Josep Skoko - Genk
Mark Bresciano - Parma and Lazio
Joshua Kennedy - Dynamo Dresden
Harry Kewell - Leeds, Liverpool and Galatasaray
Craig Moore - Rangers, Newcastle United and Borussia Mönchengladbach
Tony Popovic - Crystal palace
Mile Sterjocski - Lille and FC Basel
Archie Thompson - Lierge
Mark Schwarzer - Middlesborough
Lucas Neill - Blackburn Rovers
Jason Cullina - PSV Eindhoven
Brett Emerton - Blackburn Rovers
Mark Viduka - Celtic and Leeds
Stan Lazarides - Birmingham City
Vincenzo Grella - Parma
Zeljko Kalac - AC Milan

That's one bad arse pub team! :)

Face it! Greece got done by better players that actually play in top ranking European Clubs and not in the Greek Goat Shagging First Division.
