For all you Ozzies out there. Understand one thing. Cheating is part of the game.
Don't pretend there's anything noble or righteous about this 'sport'.
stop criticizing it, I'm guilty of that too.
Learn theatrics, practice diving, take chances.
That's the only way you're gonna get ahead.

I stopped watching the Greece game after the first ten dives. Will have a look at the England match tonight and if it is the same..... An early night.
I am so glad I was able to gently persuade my boys not to play the game. The parents are not much better. Swearing and cheating even from the sidelines my eldest took to rugby and what a change in the behaviour of the team and parents. Intelligent and they all looked after one another. The only problem was the drinking. No trouble just a hell of a lot of it, but the boys worked so hard it was hard not to let them have some fun every now and again. My youngest went for swimming but that is so time consuming. Unless you are serious about going pro then forget it. The clubs will not give an inch. The fitness will last him all his life though. I know that from a friend from school. He found girls, drink and cigarettes at the age of 16 but got right back into swimming when he joined the fire brigade at the age of thirty. The swimming parents are a nightmare as well. Some children would talk to my wife and tell her they only did it because of their parents. One child of a coach was suicidal. Had to be put on anti depressants. Cheating in rugby was impossible. Many bad refs spoiled the game though. Disrupted the flow and broke the will of the boys.
