Please follow the lawsuit and news from the main source not to be manipulated by the media. And I will look into opening lawsuit agaist media which manipulates the news also, any advice on this?
To follow the lawsuit and search for justice, Please Search for ONE CYPRUS LAWSUIT in facebook and join the group and invite your friends..
IN THIS NEWS:
In our case, It is true that they have been found innocent but not recently, it was in year 2011 after the invastigation of the police the attackers was not found and identified so the investigation was closed. this lawsuit is not directly related with us..
OPENING A LAWSUIT
However very soon, within 1-2 months we are going to open a lawsuit against Cyprus Republic authorities as our human rights was violated.
Human rights such as;
+ 'PEACEFUL GATHERING' police was unable to protect us from the attacks at the peaceful gathering at Rainbow Festival.
Police did not act to stop the attackers after they saw we were attacked and stabbed.
We are attacked 400m away from the police and 200m from the police station , and there were witnesses around and they could be caught up easily as they were 15-20 people wearing masks, hoods, black, holding baseball pays.. Etc
And the attack happened 2 hrs after the fights started, police was very few in numbers, not prepared and let these incidents to go on for two hours.. They knew Rainbow festival and demonstration was going to happen at the same place, they even gave 'warning' to municipality to stop it happening but got rejected municipalty said take precautions and they did not.
+ INFORMATION- police did not inform us when they opened the invastigation, when they closed the investigation and the results of it.. We heard through friends even though they had our contact details.
+ INVESTIGATION- Police did not do proper investigation: people who attacked us were wearing masks, hoods, wearing black, were holding baseball pats, pepper spreys and knife and they were 15-20 people literally 200m away from police station with important buildings around, taxi office near by, vitnesses around who saw where it happened and these people could not be caught and vanished back to space?
Police officer who was leading the investigation called us one week later to the police station and we went to show them where the incedent took place and officer told me they were searching elsewhere and that this is the first time they learn the exact spot.
When I was in hospital, police came next day to take statement with a KURDISH translator who did not know Turkish much so at the end I had to explain in english to the police officer than he translated in greek to the Kurdish person then the Kurdish translated in Turkish and wrote on paper which was not exactly how I explained, which Police told me that if approximately explains it is ok and I signed it.
LEGAL AID rejection:
We applied to get legal aid to support our lawsuit as we were not working and after one year of going to courts sending documents and listening some crap, it was rejected.
In the lagal aid application, we asked for Turkish documents (turkish is official language under the constitution) they did not have, than we wrote Turkish on the documents, they rejected, they also did not provide translators at the courts so we had to bring friends to help us..
SUPPORT:
And though these years since incident happened in 2010, we had no contact and support from government, NGO's etc... Except AKEL's women section and women's NGO called Hands Accross the Divide.. And one NGO from turkish speaking community..
No financial and psychological support was given even though our instruments was stolen and damaged, worth 5000 sterling and almost lost our lives and could not work fora while not to mention all the psychological damage incidents like these can cause to last for many years..
This is the situation my friends.. But as long as I am alive and healthy these won't stop me.. We want justice and with your help who believe in equality justice and peace we will make a change..
To support please follow the courtcase from official channel (for now it is facebook group) ONE CYPRUS Lawsuit.
