Anastasiadis rotating presidency

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Anastasiadis rotating presidency

Postby boulio » Tue Jun 03, 2014 2:54 am

Seems like anastasiadis has taken rotating presidency off the table, also in today's meeting he stated the roc will not move to the next phase of the talks which is the "give and take"phase unless the tc side puts all their proposals for all the chapters including territory, settlers, security guarantees in writing.

Good move, since we have good experience of the Turkish Bazaliki. Say one thing today deny it tomorrow. We have seen the agreements you also denied just a day after signing.

About time, you guys came clean.

Ata boy!

The idea of a rotating presidency is ridiculous and undemocratic.

Stassi is going to force Earlgu's hand and show how intransigent he is, the fraud, the time waster and as a consequence end the talks.

FINALLY!!!! A GC politician has realised the territory and properties issue's importance and is demanding a clear statement from the other side. It is the first time ever that the GC side has attached some importance to territory.

The TC side wants to leave the territory issue last, so it can play a game of give and take. This is not negotiation, it is outright BLACKMAIL.

When negotiating on the basis of BBF then we should have allocation standards set out from the start as to the surface area of each region, the coastline length, the future of territory now bound in British bases, the EEZ and continental shelf.

It is impossible to enter such a negotiation withoug standards and criteria other than "give and take". It is nonsense to attempt to do so, and Eroglu wants to keep us at the level of nonsense.

In the Annan plan we saw a racist standard applied where the TC community had a per head allocation of territory that was almost double that for ALL the other communities on the island. The rest of us should make clear to the TCs that this is not going to fly. This is not just a TC-GC thing, it affects all communities in Cyprus.

Yes, the offer of a Rotating Presidency came with Cross-Voting.

Eroglu turned down Cross-voting and the Rotating Presidency offer that came with it during the Pres X era talks.

By all accounts, yesterday's meeting became a less than friendly affair after Pres A insisted on moving Territory up the agenda.

They were so keen to resume the talks, after stalling during Cyprus' rotating EU presidency, after Cyprus bail in/out, so they can take them absolutely nowhere.

Its all a waste of time.
