Well, well, well, the amount of times that our Turkish Cypriot Associations abroad tried to get a plane regardless of it being Chartered, private or even one containing baby food (even!) to land in Ercan other than a "Turkish" labelled service and failed just goes to show how significant this article is. And, I don't blame the GCs for being up in arms about it as it truly is a statement of action always regarded as Taboo in the past! However, the Typical GC attitude and their obvious manoeuvres have also proven that their idea of any "confidence building measures" is only accepted one way - the Greek Cypriot way and not for us. They know clear and well that such a move will not, and can not, mean recognition for the TRNC, but they still go ahead rattling their toys and throwing them out of the pram screaming and shouting, embarrassingly I may add, in making themselves look stupid, ignorant and nationalist and untrustworthy. And they want the Varosha as a Trusting Confidence building measure before a Comprehensive plan in return of an promise - Yeah Right! I sit on the TC committee for the talks now and then with Mr Ozersay and can say with confidence that the Varosha for the GCs is gone unless they sign a two state solution with a loose central government.

Why can't you at least act like China does with Taiwan - they do not recognise Taiwan, and nor does the world, but they do not stop their basic liberties; they do not stop direct trade, direct travel etc, the importing of internationally branded Baby food, etc, etc.

Want, Want Want - well, trust me on this latest barrier that has been broken by Deep Blue, there is more to come in abundance; from cross "cease-fire line" mobile conversations, direct Chartered Flights to Ercan, international banks (which already operate in the TRNC, including Car manufacturers and dealers like BMW, Hyundai and etc) to new military contract now being arranged in collaboration with Turkey and it's industries.

Carry on being that ignorant my GC compatriots, and like I said man years ago on the ATCA forum, you will soon wake up to many more surprises......like, Assimilation if you continue your current frame of attitudes and mind.

How's the battle for Recognition really going Mr H... ??? ... esp, in the light of Mr Biden's statement last week...

‘Deep Purple did not arrive on BA flight’

A statement from BA concerning the aircraft’s landing in Ercan said: “The aircraft is owned and operated by SunAir which is a British Airways franchise. This is a charter flight which is not operating on behalf of British Airways.”

The foreign ministry said on Saturday it would investigate whether the plane flew in directly from London since that would be illegal, and that they would also lodge a complaint with SunAir for landing in Tymbou.

Taiwan is resourceful, i'll add, unlike the occupied territory in the north; what the Taiwanese have done, they did it themselves, there is no "motherland" on which Taiwan relies.

Typical, a scenario, explanation oadjusted and angled for the the suitability of the Greek Cypriots. So I guess Taiwan is ok then (Resoruceful!)......please don't make me laugh. That's why unification with you lot is a joke - but then again, who is unifying? As it hasn't happened since 1963, there's very little chance, if not Impossible, it could now never happen. Watch out for my next post on Why Cyprus can never unify!
