check out some of the freelancing websites and outsource it to someone that's competent.

They will expect you to provide the content otherwise the price skyrockets.

Mind you, if they come up with something that’s pretty but takes 20 seconds to load I’m gonna whack the keyboard on their heads!

Your hurdle is the sales, the copywriting and the persuasive presentation of content.

WYSIWYG editors used to be popular 15 years ago but they are not anymore. Pros write code directly using editors and IDEs, utilizing libraries and frameworks and things like pre-processors. Amateurs that just want to have a website can do it with things like Wordpress, SquareSpace etc... and today most such people settle for just a facebook page anyways. Take yourself as an example... you are not a web developer but you tried to make a website and the result is really not that great... your tool didn't help you make a better website so how would it help anybody else? You would be better off customizing a free wordpress theme... it would take about the same time, it would cost nothing and the result would be far better. I am not saying that a tool like that could not be useful at all... it could be in certain occasions... but you have to make it better and offer it for free as an online service. Examples: http://www.colorzilla.com/gradient-editor/ or http://css3buttongenerator.com/ Then if it gets some popularity you could make some money using ads.

ColorZilla is a joke next to my gradient designers.

You've got to be kidding me re Soto... what are those flat useless things that don’t debounce?
