One more thing Erolz,
When are you going to don your latex hot pats and parade in the street for democracy, equality and non discrimination in Cyprus to solve our Turkish problem?

They had equality from at least the 1980s in Western countries. But it seems to me they got bored without the attention that "normality" brings. So then they started asking for more - using sex like some extremists use manic-religions, demanding more rights than the average citizen, more rights to destroy what the majority had been enjoying for thousands of years.
Oh - reminds me of another minority group.

Oh yeh, but the movement for same sex marriage etc and anti discrimination laws is not exactly a demand for more rights now is it? More like a conquest for equality which does not exist in many Western Countries including Cyprus!

Same-sex partnerships ("civil partnerships") do exist in many western countries though, where the same rights and responsibilities are applicable as if the couple were married.
We may not have this formally in Cyprus but no one is stopping anyone from being homosexual or forming legal partnerships where each party in the relationship can assume their responsibility, as if they were married.

Most Western Countries do not allow same sex marriage. Australia, Greece, Cyprus and some US States are examples!

Everyone is still free to define their sexuality, but that is NOT the issue.
Same sex marriage will allow for formal recognition which is important to some of them and it also allows the couple to claim various social security benefits should they meet the criteria as well as the ability to adopt.
Some same sex couples would make BETTER parents than some heterosexual couples that have kids.
Very complex issues, and same sex couples certainly have a right to be heard about their wish to form civil unions in the eyes of the law.

Sorry are you talking about the LGBT community or the suffragette / women's movement ? I mean women have had the franchise for nigh on 100 years in many western countries and some are STILL moaning on about equality and discrimination.
