You need wait no longer RW, but you'll have to wait for Hell to freeze over before our Cousin Shesso does the right thing and condemns "trnc"...
"... A first-hand account of the scenes from Occupied Famagusta earlier today from a virtual friend, a massive, massive supporter of the CY couple...
An account that includes reports of injury caused to Cinel by the Grey Sheep that Cousin Vordo so admires, reports of knives, a car driven at the CY Couple's supporters and of great fear and trauma.
Koray and Cinel - living their nightmare and reality
by Tina Adamidou
Thursday 21st May 2015, 1.45pm. Famagusta court in the occupied areas. I do not usually use his term when writing about the north of our island but after what I witnessed today it is something more than occupied.
The Turkish speaking Cypriot couple Cinel and Koray were to appear today at 2pm at the court whereby it was rumoured that their trial would actually officially begin. It had been agreed by the 50 or so supporters of the couple who had come to show support that only one lone Cypriot flag would be raised outside the court after the hearing today had finished.
Upon arrival I wasn't surprised to see several Turkish flags unfurled together with a single military size TRNC flag. Checking their faces and asking the Cypriotturkish friends who were with us, the protestors were not Cypriotturks bar one who happened to be a convicted murdered but members of the notorious Grey Wolves. Before we even entered the court more protestors gathered, chants began. Undeterred Koray and Cinel entered the court together with their supporters, the Grey Wolves on their best behaviour.
Once inside the small courtroom, the few spectators - from both sides - with the couple's solicitor visible absent, the Prosecutor asked that the hearing be postponed till 4pm as he had another case pending. This meant that for another 2 hours all the supporters and protestors would have to wait. It was then that a menacing feeling was felt.
As we exited the court, more protestors gathered and were now equal in number to the supporters and there were police trying to keep both parties apart. More Turkish flags were raised and the Grey Wolves came closer to the supporters with the police not really sensing the danger that was imminent.
As Koray's supporters crossed to the other side of the road, the Cypriot flag was raised causing an uproar amongst the protestors. Scuffles between the police and the protestors erupted and a few of the protestors managed to get through and attacked Koray, Cinel and her mother who were lightly injured.
Bearing witness to the look of pure hatred and lust for murder apparent on these young mens faces shook me to the core. Never before in my life have I seen this look, and it will haunt me forever. Now a lot of questions that I had asked in the past were answered. Why were there not more Cypriotturkish supporters at the court - in one simple answer, they are scared. I am not afraid to admit, I froze, I was petrified, not just for my safety but for those of all of us there, but more than that for Koray and Cinel.....
One of the supporters clearly shaken told us that she had spotted two of the Grey Wolves holding knives and had even seen them taken into the courtroom with them.
Their chants were getting louder, it was one of the most frightening moments of my life, the uncertainty, the fear. A Bentley had arrived earlier unleasing 5-6 bravos hellbent on causing troubles. The driver then got back into the car and drove into the crowded area where the supporters were stationed at a high speed and swerved to run over Cinel and a few of us who were near her.
For nearly two hours the two opposing parties were kept apart and more police were drafted in. The protestors shouting 'Cyprus is Turkish and always will be' whilst the supporters held their silent protest and not allowing the provacations to get to them.
With an armed police escort , hand in hand we were taken into the courtroom upstairs this time which could hold more people. Everybody was searched before being allowed in.
The Prosecution began with 3 different videos being shown of the arrest, one had been posted on youtube, the second was filmed by the police and the third was between Koray and Sener Levent of Afrika newspaper telling him what had happened.
Nearly 6pm and the judge wrapped up with the first witness for the Prosecution, one of the policeman who had arrested Koray and Cinel.
She said that the case will continue tomorrow at 10am and stressed that she wanted this case to finish in 3 days, meaning that by Monday it should all be over.
By the time we came out of the court, the protestors had more or less left. Which leaves many questions. Exactly how safe are the couple now that their supporters have gone to their respective homes? They have been receiving threats and anonymous phone calls.....their lives are really at risk.
I have been to many demonstrations in my life but none had put the fear of God through me like todays.
Tomorrow most of their supporters will find it difficult to attend the court hearing in the morning, which leaves us wondering, what will happen to this brave couple in the jaws of the Grey Wolves....we must spread the word, we have to protect them otherwise in my personal opinion we are leaving them clearly in the hands of the people who had blood on their hands from the unforgettable murder of Tassos Issac....who concidentally is the inspiration behind Koray' s questioning of the authorities in the occupied areas.
May God help them..... ..."
