I understand that you believe Cyprus is a 'Greek Island' and thus only GC should have any say over its future and that TC are just 'colonists' that should either accept they have no say over the future of Cyprus or fuck off. Unfortunately TC do not believe this and nor does the rest of the world. It is this very belief that GC have and had a right to impose their will on TC in Cyprus and TC determination to resist such that is at the core of the Cyprus problem and sustains it into the future.

You are the ones who came to our island to impose your will on us. Your ethnic minority can have as much say as any other small non-native ethnic minority in any other country. The whole world apart from Turkey recognizes the Republic of Cyprus, run exclusively by native Cypriot people and not a single invader, as the legitimate government of the whole Cyprus. The Cyprus Problem is the Turkish cancer with the Turks keep invading our island, keep stealing our lands and giving them to their settlers. How are the so called "Turkish Cypriots" any different from the more recent Turkish Settlers? Even your leadership admits that there is no difference.

...and here we are. A Modern World, where as Persons we sustain an Identity (with others), and as Individuals we have Rights (to define our own identity).

...i think language is the ultimate factor in defining Identity, "then", it is only reasonable to imagine Turks (everywhere around the world) believing Cyprus 'belonged' to Turkey, that a deal could be made, because it was/is a possession. but the world, "we", the Human self, have moved on, and Identity has become synonymous with a closeness to Land. Language, like Mobility are not the barriers they were. Sovereignty as in Stewardship becomes increasingly important, merit rather than distinctions and discrimination define a Free Society, i would hope that all Cypriots see themselves as Cypriots first, and that as Cypriots demonstrate the capacity to sustain an ethnosphere which includes not just two constituencies.

...facts on the ground, a popular notion nowadays (so much has changed), clearly the one that cannot be forgotten is Grace; the 'fait accompli' in Cyprus is nothing to be proud of.

@Sotos, i understand your venom, the wrongness of what is. whatever you can say about Cypriots though, they are industrious. i say, we don't have to build a new Country, but we have to build better the one we have. whether Turkish or not Turkish, whether Greek, Cyprus exists as a Cypriot State, Cyprus, the flag, to fly higher than any other, (including Greek). i ask, cannot a Cypriot state exist in Cyprus, because the population is overwhelmingly Greek, you forget, you may be Greek, but you are bigger, an Individual, not just a Person.

Internationally recognized agreements with your signature on it give us those rights, which you will never be able to erase so time you got this fact into your thick brains Cyprus belongs to us as much as it does you.

Those same agreements have turkey's and the tc signature as well and they do not in anyway give turkey the right to behave as they have done in the last 50 years.you can't pick and choose parts of treaties that suit you.

I would read them again guarantor rights allows Turkey to intervene and try to bring about a solution which it is still doing until this day. It is the GCs who still want to get rid of these agreements? by taking away our rights.

It is these rights that the international community pay respect to and demand that both sides are consulted and that both sides put to referendum any future solution proposals. You cannot push us to one side because like it or not our yes or no carries just as much weight as yours.

I think you're the one that needs to read those rights again VP. Turkey has an obligation to maintain and protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the republic of Cyprus. Any intervention ( not unilateral ) can only be undertaken to restore the constitutional order of the republic of Cyprus. Turkey also signed the agreement forbidding it to promote directly or indirectly the partition or union of any part of Cyprus with another state.

Cyprus is a Rhodesian island with a native Rhodesian population since antiquity, so I guess it’s your daft teacher versus mine.

but lets face it. starting a fight is easy but stopping it it took terkish armys presence to stop it. you see magarios was wrong when he said starting a fight is easy but stopping it is not. it can be stoped so long as you know the medicine required.
