Below was a scene that greeted pilgrims to Good Friday Liturgy at the Church of Ayios Georgios Exorinos in Occupied Famagusta last week.

If this Liturgy was a peace and reconciliation event, why did the Illegal Regime of "trnc" allow this provocative nonsense...!!!

Apologies for posting offensive flags and to all who went in good faith and those that welcomed them with warmth, but there are still some right scum-bags around, isn't that right Erol...???

Doesn't help, does it... ??? What do you think, Mr H...???

is simple, the service was a provocation against the regime; where "they" were successful the gates were closed, in this case that could not be done...

...more reason to have confidence in Cypriots, rather than the leadership, for new thinking, and daring. it will not surprise me soon, since "Flags" are so important, that more will fly, and that more and more of them will be Cypriot.

I remember reading in the news that those flags were put up by "private individuals" (to be safe, I'll say they weren't part of Famagusta's Turkish municipality) and were put down by the police before or around the time that the event happened.

interesting, even as speculation, that would be quite a change if it were true.

...what is certain is that Easter came and went, (and another will come next year). we can expect, i guess, that flags will continue to have a great meaning in Cyprus.

welcome ayyannili, cheers.
