Οι άνθρωποι που ήταν συγκεντρωμένοι προχθές έξω από την αίθουσα διαλέξεων του ΤΕΠΑΚ μάλλον δεν θέλουν να μάθουν. Κυκλοφορούν υπό μάλης με επιλεκτικές αναγνώσεις της ιστορίας για να την επαναλάβουν ως φάρσα. Η εκδήλωση του ΕΛΑΜ δεν ήταν με κανένα κριτήριο μια πολιτική συγκέντρωση. Ήταν μια κακόγουστη φάρσα. Στηρίχθηκε σε έωλα επιχειρήματα με τα οποία τους τροφοδότησε ένας ανόητος δημοσιογράφος από την Ελλάδα, επιχειρήθηκε να νομιμοποιηθεί με μια λογική των δεκαετιών του 1950/60 στην καλύτερη περίπτωση, που εδράζεται στη λογική «ο καλός Τούρκος είναι ο νεκρός Τούρκος». Κάποιοι ανόητοι φόρεσαν ακόμη κράνη και κουκούλες, κρατώντας λάβαρα και ελληνικές σημαίες (ναι, αυτές που κατέβασαν οι ναζί από την Ακρόπολη το 1940 υψώνοντας στη θέση τους τη σβάστικα) ενεδύθησαν τις μαύρες στολές των Es-Es και ετοιμάστηκαν να τερματίσουν μια συζήτηση που κάποιοι συμπολίτες τους είχαν διοργανώσει.

Δεν σηκώνουν κουβέντα τα φασιστάκια όταν πρόκειται να υπερασπισθούν αυτό που θεωρούν ως πατρίδα τους, παραγνωρίζοντας ότι είναι και δική μας πατρίδα. Άποψή τους είναι ότι μια ομάδα διεστραμμένων που αποκαλούνται «Έλληνες Εθνικιστές» έχουν δικαίωμα να αποφασίζουν ποιος θα μιλά και ποιος δεν θα μιλά, ποιος θα λέει και τι θα λέει.

Αν αυτοί αποφασίσουν να λογοκρίνουν κάποιον, νομιμοποιούνται να φορέσουν τις μαύρες καρναβαλίστικές τους στολές, να ανάψουν τους πυρσούς, να εισβάλουν και να τους κάψουν όλους ζωντανούς, μετατρέποντας την αίθουσα σε έναν βάλτο αίματος που βράζει. Μπορούν ύστερα εν πομπή να εμφανισθούν αγριωποί ενώπιον ενός φοβισμένου δικαστή και να πανηγυρίσουν γιατί τους αθώωσε.

Στη χώρα μας κάποιοι χρησιμοποιούν το κακό μας παρελθόν για να διαιωνίζουν τον κύκλο του αίματος. Όχι η τουρκοκύπρια Saziye, που γονάτισε προχθές και έγινε ένα με το χώμα που σκέπασε τα γεγυμνωμένα οστά του αδελφού της Αρίφ σε κοιμητήριο της Αμμοχώστου. Δεν είναι αυτός ο σκοπός ούτε της κυρίας Στέλλας Γιαλλουρίδη, η οποία από το 1974 αναζητά τον αγνοούμενο σύζυγό της Ανδρέα στο στενοσόκακο της πρώην οδού Sir Arnold Doybee στην Κερύνεια.

...thanks bill for giving me the clue i needed to understand what kurupetos is on about. i read it just as you do, indeed the author talks of the missing and the suffering that has gone on, on both sides of the line, and indeed he talks of the cowards like Elam who ignore the fact that real heroes were born from the ignorance of people such as kurupetos who hasn't a clue about humility.

@stupetos, you must always need someone to wipe your ass because you are too stupid to see past the toilet paper you never seem to have enough of, and (to be kind), i doubt you are old enough to know yourself, or how to use it. whether Greek or Turk, Cypriots who suffer from the ignorance of your hatred, and those like you, has more to do with Humanity. they are the real heroes; but being a "Greek" no better than a "Turk", what would you know about that? why don't you fuck off to somewhere where "Greeks" live and get out of Cyprus, you don't deserve to be here.
