How long can i stay ?

Postby titan430 » Fri Mar 28, 2014 3:10 pm

HI, have tried to search for the subject but cant seem to find anything. How long can I stay in Cyprus, on a tourist visa or something of that nature. What do I ask for and where do I get it if I want to stay longer. Have a few quids behind me now so will not be dependant on hand outs. Where is the best place to look for rental in Paphos area. Stayed there last year and found it was nice and quiet. Any help would be very appreciated. Or do I sort things out if I can get here............cheers

where do you come from???

If EU, can stay any length of time.

If non EU, your visa will tell you.

Even if you are EU, you have to apply for a residence permit after a certain period of time (off hand I can't remember how long).

... but for EU citizens, on the 183rd day, jump on a plane to anywhere and come back to start the 183 days again... yes...???

No, if you are an EU citizen, they don't really bother about you. You only need to go and sort out the 'Pink Slips' (which are now yellow!) if you want to do certain things.

Being a Cypriot, I have no problems anyway, but neither do my 3 British sons who have all been living and working here for years and none of them have applied for for 'Pink Slips'.

I've got a permanent yellow slip and sleep easier for having one. I don't think I could have a tax and VAT number without one.

I would say yes, but I'm not an expert.
