Usually when in Cyprus I hire from the same firm at a cost of 20 euros daily, not bad really but 7 -8 times a year and you have spent 1000 euros.
Does that mean you will buy your own plane also?
Thought about it but I can't fly!!!
I have looked at some Cyprus car prices and I think for 3-4 thousand I can get a good little car in the UK and ship it out!
Milti... Beware the massive excise duties and the cost of registering a car in CY.
Have you looked into registering for Residency in CY so that as an EU citizen you'll be able to reclaim this hideous amount of excise duty charged when importing a car... as long as you've owned it for a few months. ...???
Bill, there is no such reclaim. Depending on the car and the emmissions duty is accordingly.
Registration €150, mot €35, shipping, clearing, dock fees about €1000 then whatever the duty is plus road tax.
Not forgetting the agrro factor.
By comparison, you could get a mazda demio 2012 auto for around €8000, pr a ford focus manual 2010 for around €6000. Is it worth the bother?
Anyway good luck
