That's because the sub that was sending these ping signals has already sailed away from the search area!

I 'd bet this submarine is undetectable by the Orions

This is what I think they will do!

They are going to ramp up the search and work there way through the Inmarsat Handshake arc. This could go on for years.

Also, it appears that Malaysia is having a dig at Australia and US for not releasing any data from Pine Gap. How can they be sure they have any data to provide?

As to how far the plane would have flown, for example, the above chart is using the circles to indicate the maximum distance the plane could have flown to, but that is ONLY based on the amount of know fuel taken on board at Kuala Lumpur for the flight to Beijing with reserve fuel. Boeing 777 has a very long flight range capability on a single full tank of fuel, so how do we know more fuel was not pumped into the plane than what the official records show, not that any information has been released on how much fuel was on board MH370, because is has not been released as far as I know.

If the plane was going to be hijacked and taken to some far destination for whatever purpose, the plane could have flown much further distance than what the above circles indicating if it had more fuel than believed. It all depends who else was involved on the ground in the disappearance of flight MH370 in falsifying fuel records for MH370. This of course, if Inmarsat didn't really get any pings from the MH370s engines at all, which means starting from scratch again.

Actually Marvin is using the same data as Inmarsat to indicate there are other possibilities.
This data is based on the fact that they received 7 pings while the Engines were running. If the plane had traveled longer distance it would deliver 8 or more pings. So both Inmarsat's conclusions and those of Marvin are based on the fact that from the 7th ping upto the point the Engines stopped the plane could travel something in between 0 and 450 knots
