Most of it is between 4100m and 4500m but there are deeper sections and HMS Echo has a detailed contour map from their surveys.

The crew of HMAS Echo are winning some great reviews for a most excellent job. Very valuable asset in this search.

The good news is that HMAS Toowoomba is moving away from the small search area at 24 knots. It has an easterly Direction so is probably headed for Port Hedland, or Broome.

I presume they have the Oil Sample and judging by the speed, they should get it to Australia in 2 days.

Actually looks like it is headed for Learmonth! They seem to be in a hurry too!

Really?

Then can you please explain to me why the Aussies are even trying to determine if the oil slick is a Jet Fuel or not (unless planted) when any oil slick from the MH370 would not be about 5km from the pings of possible Black Boxes after 5 weeks, but perhaps as much as 1,500km away, allowing for the current movement at a very conservative rate of 1nm/per hour for the last 37 days. If that wasn't enough for you to chew on, how about why there is no debris found at the site of this oil slick?

Personally, if the Aussies do make the claim it is Jet Fuel from MH370, then I for one will come to the conclusion that they have been lying all alone, and if you cannot explain the above yourself and go along with the Australian official findings when they would be blatantly lying, then I can't see how anyone can take you and the Aussies serious in solving the MH370 problem. You better hope the Aussies do not make the claim it is Jet Fuel from MH370 but something else instead, such as diesel or crude oil.

Ok guys this is so exciting!

I've just worked out what HMAS Toowoomba is up to. It is traveling East on a heading of 095M. This takes them directly to RAAF Learmonth. :D

Once its Seahawk Helicopter is within range, it will take the Oil Sample to RAAF Learmonth, refuel and return back to the Ship. Then HMAS Toowoomba will head back to the Search Areas and resume its duty.

The Oil Sample should be in Australia within a day. Therefore, expect to hear some news about this within the next 48 hours max. :D

I can quite easily explain that. Maybe the tanks of the aircraft ruptured and maybe it took the substance that long to surface.

That is of course if it is from MH370 which of course it might not be. Either way, the Aussies wouldn't plant it there because that would be a VERY stupid thing to do, because they would never be allowed to call the search off if the world thinks that JETA1 was found in the vicinity. The Australian Government is not prepared to piss millions if not a Billion Dollars up the wall. They will eventually want to call the search off if and when they exhaust all leads.

You can make any conclusion you want. If they come out and say it is JET1 then it is. It also means they will find the wreckage and retrieve the Black Box. It will be the best thing and you will be proven wrong!

We won't be waiting too long. I have been monitoring this and the Aussies seem to be conducting a very well structured military operation. The Oil Sample will be in Australia very soon.

As I said before. Australia never ceases to amaze me. Best country in the world by a long shot.

Just for argument sake, you entertained the possibility that MH370 landed safely somewhere! Where do you think they landed? And why, after 39 days, has there been not a single sign of life? Why hasn't anyone claimed responsibility or made a ransom claim?

Do you honestly think the US, China or Malaysia are going to negotiate with whoever is responsible?

Now you are really stretching it, to try and fit a square peg into a round hole to make the impossible possible.

So what you want people to believe is, if in fact it is Jet Fuel and it has not been planted by the Aussies, it has ONLY started leaking from MH370 after 35 days of crashing into the ocean, which would have torn MH370 to pieces upon impact in all likelihood, but you think that the aircraft did not break up on impact with the water but sunk more or less in one piece, and then after 35 days, it has started leaking, or that it took 35 days for the oil slick to reach the surface after making its was through 4500m of water.

Guess what, even if the latter two did happen, your explanation has a problem, because you will still either have an oil slick 1500 km away if it all leaked in the first day or two, OR, you will have an oil slick 1500km long if it's still leaking from day one. You cannot ignore the sea currents in either case. If the plane did break up on impact with the water and the Jet Fuel is from MH370, where is the debris if it's not with the oil slick? How about 1,500 km away!

As for the Jet Fuel having started leaking only as of 2 days ago (how convenient) and you and your colleagues in the industry whom you have so much praise for for their common sense, then I have a lot of Ocean Front Property to sell you guys in Arizona at dirt cheap prices.

As I've said, up to this point, no one has been proven wrong or proven correct. In the case of the plane landing anywhere, I would think ransom money is the last thing on the minds of who ever took over the plane. They must have a greater cause than just money.

Personally I have not ruled out anything, unlike you and your colleagues in the industry. I only question what doesn't make sense, that's all.

I am not saying anything because right now I don't know if it is JetA1.

It could be and it might not be. If it is not then the Aussies are just going to say the Oil Slick is completely unrelated to MH370. If it is, then I am sure they will provide samples to Malaysian Investigators and continue until they find the wreckage.

You actually try and ridicule this and then tell me that there is a possibility they landed somewhere else. Really?

Are you fair Dinkum or just taking the piss?

I am not saying the aircraft sank in one piece. It may have broken up but most of it is on the ocean floor. I am sure there is debris somewhere and it is probably going to wash up somewhere in Africa by now. The likelihood of finding debris right now is remote. One day, in the future, they may find some debris many thousands of kms away.

Also, there is not much of a current at 4500m. And it could be Hydraulic Oil. It could also be JetA1 and I am sure that they will already know if it was because JetA1 is basically kerosene or clear diesel. The Aussies won't say until they have clear and independent lab results that actually specify the chemical composition of the material they collected.
