Diego Garcia IS A US MILITARY BASE.
It is unthinkable for any US military base to have less than 4 fighter jets at any time (2 to lift off in case of some urgent event and 2 to stay on base to defend it). As for the maximum just have a look at the photos it could be hundreds.
Diego Garcia is not a Hotel or some sort of leisure place.
Just like Dhekelia base in Cyprus civilians can go there and have fish and chips and walk around and think of " what a peaceful place" until they realize they can't even get close to sensitive areas. The truth is -and we all know it- Dhekelia and more so Episkopi are nothing but peaceful places.

The hypothesis that MH370 was shot down because it became a threat to Diego Garcia cannot be ruled out by assuming that a)Diego Garcia is "usually empty" from fighter jets or b)Militants would need to ask permission from the Pentagon to shoot it down or c) they had to show mercy to an innocent civilian plane or d)the Americans would go out and admit and and tell the reasons why they did it or whatever.

Of course all these hypotheses or theories could be totally useless if the MH370 case was one of the standard cases where we had either a)Mechanical/Electrical failure or b) wrong handling of the problem by the pilots or both at the same time or c)Hijack or d)shot down by accident

Malaysia itself admitted it was a criminal act.So far absolutely no indication for a Hijack. So what's left other than a totally NEW CASE?

My new theory says it could be robbery of extremely valued cargo. And it happened while the plane was over land.

No not unthinkable at all.

The longest runway in the world is in Australia. It is a AUS Base and an alternate for the Shuttle.

There is not even one fighter on it just like Diego Garcia and just like Akrotiri.

YES IT DID!

Afghanistan did as well!

Btw, not having fighters at Diego is an excellent reason why MH370 couldn't be shot down. Another excellent reason is the fact that local fishermen would be picking up debris for days not to mention even the Greek, Cypriot and Panamanian Merchant Fleets.

You are just jumping up and down because it simply does not fit in with your theories of conspiracy.

Trust me when I tell you that the US would even shoot down its own passenger jets if it had to since 911 but not just for the hell of it. They would have a reason to do so such as hijacking over a populated area like LA or New York, and even then they would exhaust all other opportunities before pulling the trigger.

What the US will not do is cover it up and send its Armed Forces and its best allies on a very expensive search and recovery mission that will go on for years such as is the case with MH370.

There is nothing wrong with shooting an airliner down if it is known to be used as a weapon against civilians by international terrorists. That is an action, although sad, which can be easily justified.

The expensive search that you talk about might not be as expensive as you think.
You have to subtract from that gross cost the cost those personnel /equipment/ship/aircraft would have if they were sitting idle.

And another random day imagery on Akrotiri.
4 clearly visible planes (2-3 bombers + 1 fighter jet?)
How many fighters hidden in hangars ?

It might not turn out as expensive as we thought because a Chinese Patrol Boat has detected a pulse signal and it might be the MH370 ELT on the Black Box.

It is early days yet and this needs to be confirmed but fingers crossed! :D

The only things permanently based at Akrotiri are 2 SAR Helicopters. The rest are just itinerant!

I know this because I use to work for a British Aeronautical Services Company that provides the RAF and Australan Government with Aviation Surveillance Aircraft and SAR included with tech crews. Air Force for hire basically or mercenaries!

The 2 choppers are privately owned by this firm.

In addition, numerous white objects detected near to the location of the pulse signal.

The signal that was detected is the correct frequency which is a positive sign.

No confirmation from anyone jet yet but Australia is the only country that will be able to retrieve the source of this signal at such depths! :D

Come in HMS Echo and HMAS Ocean Shield! :D

All ahead full steam boys!

The silly Chinese made a rather premature announcement but good luck to all involved.
