That was my previous theory. Now I have another.
It was a robbery on the air. They simply stole the contents. Then they trashed both the plane and the dead in the Indian Ocean. :D

I mean we ve seen robberies on cars, robberies on trucks, robberies on trains, why not on a plane?

NB. I wouldn't rule out a combination of the 2 theories

Normerly there are no aircraft at all at Diego Garcia unless something is going on in the Gulf. At the most there might be one US or Australian Orion, C130, or Galaxy on a 30 minute fuel stop. That's on a busy day.

Can you tell what was so upnormal on 4/13/2006 to have 13 military planes on second photo, plus 2 more at some other locations that i traced on Diego Garcia + one ship 230m long+another ship 57m long 2 smaller ships 26m long and a number (about 10) smaller ships +a hell lot of sea platforms all around?
Download Google Earth and see for yourself!

btw do you like my new theory?

It had nothing to do with Diego Garcia's Aircraft presence at 4/13/2006
Combined Task Force actually started in 2002 and lasted until 2008.To be followed by Combined Task Force 151 from 2009 todate.
The events at Somalia happened months later...

Diego Garcia is 3000Km away from Somalia. Aircraft coverage could come much faster from Saudi Arabia or Oman or whatever.

So combined task force out of the Diego Garcia question.
Somalia out of the question again.
So why on that very RANDOM date of 4/13/2006 that Google took it's pictures the Diego Garcia had such a considerable Military presence????

Hint:

Because it always has

Incorrect!

They don't base ANYTHING at Diego Garcia at all. Believe me because I know!

There is no reason for anything to be at Diego Garcia unless there is some build up or an operation in the Gulf. You just stated yourself that it would be easier to base aircraft in Bahrain. At 3000 kms, fighters are not within range and that undermines their effectiveness without air to air refueling.

There is a IAF Plan to use Diego Garcia in the event they attract Iran, but for an F15 to get to Diego Garcia, they will need to be refueled twice by KC-10 Tankers. The idea is that they will not be able to get back to Israel.

Other than that, Diego Garcia is used by the RAAF quite a lot. Conversely, the RAF also use the base. All Orions and Galaxy aircraft have been there at some point, and usually they are the only aircraft to go there for weeks at a time!

Once again, the photos are depicting a number of Galaxy Aircraft!

These aircraft are NOT based there at all but are itinerant and are there to bring in troops and supplies to the Persian Gulf or to assist operations in Somalia, the Persian Gulf or Afghanistan.

Now please tell my what the heck so many Galaxy aircraft would be permanently based in Diego Garcia?

It would make a lot more sense to permanently base these aircraft in Cyprus, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Turkey or Qatar.

During the Afghan War, a number of B52 bombing sorties began and ended in Diego Garcia, but these things have the range.

Of course. That's why their "by accident" presence at Diego Garcia on 4/13/2006 cannot be explained with the Somalia events.
Re my photo links.:I never knew the RAF aircraft were marked US AIR FORCE.

As for your claim that nothing happens In Diego Garcia, err sorry I don't believe you.

I already told you about Task Force 150 - Somalia. The build up actually started in 2005 and operations began in March 2006!

25 countries were involved!

The Royal Australian Navy and the RAAF were also using Diego Garcia at the time rather extensively!
