I do not believe the public has a right to know at this stage because the media scrum that would follow would just bring lots of tears to all involved and it will never help the relatives in the slightest. Says who? If this thing happened in America the data would be all over the internet by now because the lawyers would already have got court orders for subpoenas.

Because at this stage the information would be strictly classified and no lawyer in the States or Australia would be able to circumvent this.
Even in 911 the US authorities withheld information for months and that was understandable.
May I remind you that the Malaysian Authorities already concluded the plane crashed in the Indian Ocean and there are no survivors?
This automatically gives the relatives the right to get it legally.
