Also, there are another 6 Ships scheduled to arrive on the scene today.

I anticipate that the Chinese Ship and HMAS Success will depart the area within the next day or 2 or perhaps leave after HMAS Toowoomba arrive in about 3 days time.

They will be looking at getting some debris over to Fremantle as soon as possible for analysis. Then they will sail back to the search area for more debris.

The logistics of this search are very challenging. They are so far out that it will quite possibly take days for positive confirmation.

But as we speak the search continues!

See AMSA Update 28:

AMSA Update 29:

https://www.amsa.gov.au/media/documents ... te29_1.pdf

Finally things are gaining momentum.

By my standards there are 2 steps in identifying an object
a) First sight
b)Scientific examination

a) By first sight you can tell A LOT. e.g is this piece aluminum, does it have paint markings on, is it plastic, does it look like a bag compartment, is it clothing, does it contain any purses any papers any money inside, is this a cushion, does it look like a planes cushion, etc etc.
While the best procedure is to wait for
b) the scientific/expertise investigation to confirm everything

If anything of real importance was retrieved I would expect the Australians to say this:

From first sight, from first look we have an x, xx, xxx number of objects collected that seem to be related to MH370.

It seems to me they are simply collecting garbage that have been floating there for years....

Who owns the MH370 data? Why isn’t it Creative Commons or copyleft? Is it right that the data be horded by MAS or the other dozen or so entities involved, with tiny fragments of it sporadically spoon fed to the public? Why aren’t the families' lawyers asking judges for subpoenas of all flight data? I

Yes it is correct that MAS, AMSA and any other entity withhold any information to allow investigators the opportunity to do their job without too much media interference.

Look back at Helios. Did the authorities reveal any sensitive information about aircraft maintenance or the conduct of the Helios Firm? No!

Of course they did. In fact all the investigation was made public.
And the same thing will happen with MH370. The only problem here is that this information will come out too late. There is nothing sensitive about Inmarsats data, they are just numbers. By revealing their numbers there would be hundreds of scientists out there to check everything and a)either provide a more accurate crash position or b)reject everything as totally invalid.

The Australians are merely waiting for all the Scientific analysis. Australians are normally pedantic and pay a lot of attention to detail. And because the military is directly involved, the authorities will not make any assumptions.

Meanwhile, another Australian warship is scheduled to depart Garden Island with deep sea robotic drones and ELT sensors.

Malaysia has sent 2 C-130s and one was flying in the search area whilst the other was grounded due tech issue.

The Australian Government has announced that the Department of Defence and the ADF will coordinate all operations as the military buildup is now enormous. There are a lot of ships and aircraft mobilized from 7 countries and more equipment is scheduled to join the operation in the coming days.

Did they? Really!

Did Boeing and the Department of Civil Aviation table the facts before the investigation team tabled their report?

Really?

Just been to the AMSA website and they seem to be a bit late with their update.

Maybe the Department of Defence/ADF have taken control. The bad thing is I don't think they will be as forthcoming with information. Hope I am wrong about that.

AMSA were a great source of reliable information.

Really. Ask anyone living in Cyprus.Tsolakis was head of the Investigation. Everything made public to the last piece of information. For your information Boeing also submitted the maintenance report of what they themselves have done. The plane was repaired TWICE for the faults in pressurizing the cabin. The second repair was done if my memory is correct in their facilities in Sweden.

Yes I know who was in charge and they did not reveal all the details before the report.

Why are you twisting everything around? You asked if they revealed everything, now you are asking if they revealed everything before the report, the fact is they never hide anything either before or after the report. Helios themselves made it public that their plane was repaired TWICE at Sweden (?) for leakages in the pressurized cabin by Boeing itself. And Boeing gave a certificate that everything was OK.
This was just a few days after the accident...
