From Larnaca to GSP Stadium

Postby Sendar » Tue Feb 25, 2014 5:13 pm

Going to the Women's Cyprus Cup next week for the 2nd time and wondered might there be alternative options considering GSP. We have car rented for half of our trip but then our driver has to fly back home and the two of us have never driven on the left-side and not too keen on experimenting :)

Does anyone know is there an easier way to get to the GSP stadium than first taking an InterCity Bus from Larnaca to Nicosia and then a taxi from the city centre to GSP? Probably not wise to walk to the stadium from the General Hospital stop as I get the vibe that the area is not really a pedestrian zone even if we wouldnt mind walking a bit longer distance. Would the bus route 106 be another option from the city centre? Guess during the off season there is not much option than to take a taxi back to Larnaca since the games end around 8pm. Our hotel is on the beachy side of Larnaca and not in the town centre and seems like the the busses dont run very late.

:? Well if the bus won’t do and a hire car won’t do… you may want to look into helicopters and ferryboats.

Seems like taxi is the only way ... unless you want to try auto-stop ;)

 Here’s an idea, get a piece of cardboard and write on it:

“Ride to Larnaca please!”

…and when the match finishes just hold it up at the exit gate and hopefully someone out of the hundreds will give you a ride.
