Observer,

GR is wrong. The RoC has negligible influence because of its size. And even if things could be in our favour, our politicians seem to stuff it up.

There are a few things going for the RoC however and this seems to be a problem for Turkey.

How legendary would it be without the EU?

Paphitis, I reckon Cyprus' political clout is greater than that of Australia!

And I would reckon you're deluded!

I'm serious mate... you guys are just a bunch of sheep-shagging ghosts!

Anyways, I’m gonna let you two get on with being spiteful to each other because I think that’s what you really want to do and I’m getting in the way!

Chao!

I'm not spiteful to Observer so hold your horses. If he is genuine then that's fine.

I'm not a spiteful person at all, you should know that!

I don't think Paphitis is being spiteful either.

I just think that he is wrong about there being any difference in Turkey's behaviour before 2004 and after 2004. If that was the reason why RoC joined the eu then it was a mistake to have joined.

Awe, thanks Observer. I wasn't being spiteful and I don't think you were either.

I agree Turkey did not waver at all prior to 2004. However, since 2004, you got to admit that Turkey has been a little erratic for the following reasons:
1) EU ambitions,
2) Natural Gas finds in the RoC EEZ, and finally
3) closer cooperation between the RoC and Israel.

And Israel has massive influence and political clout!

Turkeys behavior has not changed since before or after 2004 and I don't think it will change for the better in the future either.

I also don't think Turkey will ever join the EU, even though she wants to. Period.
