Return the Column to Greece

Postby bill cobbett » Fri Feb 14, 2014 10:03 pm

Picky below is what remains of what was prob the Greatest Symbol of the Unity of the early Greek nation, the Serpent Column, the very Omphalos of Olde Delphi, forgotten and languishing, abandoned as a rubbish bin for tourist litter in a nondescript part of a Turkish square in Occupied Constantinople.

Has anyone thought of asking Turkey for its return...???

Lordo means Constantinople is also in Greece and therefore there is no need to remove it from there. :D

The obelisk (Obelisk of Theodosius) is from Egypt. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obelisk_of_Theodosius

Didn't there used to be two? As for the rest of this one...maybe there were some names on it they didn't like. Aren't Greek tribe names inscripted on it?

I think it should be returned to Delphi. I'm off on a bike trip next year via there and Meteora. I don't fancy Istanbul to see Greek relics :-P
