Hollywood's Greatest Say Return the Parthenon Marbles

Postby GreekIslandGirl » Wed Feb 12, 2014 4:08 pm

My faves and now even more fave, Gorgeous George Clooney, Brilliant Bill Murray and Melting Matt Damon tell Britain they want to see the return of the Parthenon Marbles to Greece. :D

Classicists and all Greeks love you guys. :D

Greece has never gone to war with Britain so why is Britain holding on to something from a friendly country?

Furthermore, what audacity, then, that Britain expects historical, arch-enemy France to give it back some spoils of war (recent tapestry  ) that Britain lost in battle.

- Pure hypocrisy to support such a stance even if you are some brit-butt-licking charlie.

Yeh these should be returned to Greece as well. It would be Noble of the British to do so.

I doubt they ever will though. Shame!

The survey conducted by The Guardian - after Clooney's comments - shows an overwhelming (at this point) support of 82% agreeing that the Parthenon Marbles should be returned to Greece. :D

Scroll down to see the pie chart ...

(Please note, The Guardian is trying the old trick to influence decisions by calling them "Elgin Marbles". Shame on you!)

Now it's up to 85% for returning the Parthenon Marbles to Greece! :D

- Shame we have so many charlies who are ashamed of Cyprus' Greek connections that they have to start alternative, diversionary topics supporting some obscure tapestry to be returned to Britain instead of supporting the return of the Parthenon Marbles  ... They are less "English" than they wish to be, as most English would do the RIGHT thing and return the friezes. :D

I wouldn't know about the Guardian's old tricks! But it is the Left's version of the Daily Mail!

The Guardian caused a massive diplomatic incident between Australia and Indonesia by printing some Leaked espionage documents from a stupid transvestite and that caused the loss of lives from a sinking illegal boat within Indonesian Waters. There was an Australian Naval Vessel nearby that could have rescued the poor souls on board the ill fated boat bound for Australia, but it could not enter as Indonesia would not allow it. So they all drowned!

You must appreciate that Britain worked to salvage the possible from inevitable Ottoman Destruction.

We've had a fair few calls on the forum to return the Marbles if you do a search, and for example:

cyprus32736.html?hilit=marbles

... but it's such a shame that all too often those charlies with mixed identities cannot bring themselves (unlike most true Brits) to support the return of the Parthenon Marbles to their rightful place. Even Hollywood stars for goodness sake know enough and more than some Oz-Brit charlies who are too ignorant of the fact Elgin was not driven by a desire to "protect" the marbles but simply to adorn his blooming garden with classical Greek architecture and it was only on threat of poverty that he sold them to the British Museum. My goodness, I now begin to understand why most Brits look down on charlies.

Why do you keep putting yourself down like that?
