So what are you saying!? Keep the Turkish colonial settlers and let them keep flooding in!?...and you accuse Greek Cypriots of trying to rid Cyprus of its Turkish Cypriot identity! lol

Quote from book.

"And it was said that the ship took our people to Crete, which is a land in the west, and it was from that land that some Muslims came to replace them, but not as many as the number we lost. And these Cretan Muslims are rather like the Christians that we lost, so that we wonder why it was necessary to exchange them, because these Cretans dance and sing as our Christians used to do, except that they have a new dance called pentozali which it lifts the heart to watch. A few of these Cretans speak only Greek. At least all of our Christians knew how to speak Turk.”

“And when our people came home from seeing the Christians leave, two very strange things happened. One was that the bell of the church fell off the bell tower of St.Nicholas, and broke into two pieces on the paving stones, and the other thing is that for days afterwards all you heard at night was the crying of the cats. They drowned out the bulbuls and nightingales, crying and crying, lamenting and complaining, complaining and lamenting.”

Funny you asking that,Zan.I am reading Birds Without Wings at the moment.I am about 3/4 way through. It is a great book.I often have tears in my eyes while reading it.I agree that everybody, especially Sourcy, should read this book.It is written by an Englishman so nobody can say it is biased towards one side or another.A great humanitarian book which questions the point of having civil wars based on different ethnic groupings.
How Sourcy thought you want Crete to be part of Turkey again is beyond me.

Come on Birkibrisli...its no secret that many nationalist Turks see Crete as an island that has a legitimate right to be under Turkey's jurisdiction.

I know that Sourcy. And some think all turkic nations should unite under Turkey's leadership and flag (Turanism it is called). And dare I say there are ultra nationalist Greeks who think Istanbul and Izmir should be under Greece. But Zan is not one of them.If you read his posts carefully you'll know he is not a nationalist at all.But for some reason he does think that TCs and GCs cannot live together as Cypriots. We have to respect his opinion and try to change his mind before he changes ours! :D

well said kibris1571,
We all know and remember the support of Greece to Ocalan on his laft days before got arrested:), strangely dear greek friends are willing to forget that part...!

But what is the point of reminding that fact to us, i cant get the point, do u think turkey should start a war on Terrorism/Terrorist States too?!

You know the funny thing? The first sultan of the Ottoman empire was Orhan bey.His mother was Greek (or Bryzantine in those days),his wife was Greek (she was the daughter of the Bryzantine emperor). You can work out what their sons and daughters were. The Ottoman empire were ruled by the elite from the Balkans, most were born Orthodox and died orthodox. The only turks who lived in teh ottoman empire were the Turkmens who were farmers and shephards during peace time and soldiers in the front line during wars. Not many of them survived the centuries of conflict.Modern Greeks and Turks are the same people, let alone the GCs and the TCs.for the love of God,I don;t understand why all this hatred, why all this denial of history.Grow up people, get a life, learn some history, think about why we have to hate each other and who benefits from it.

Kibrisli what drugs are u taking before trolling on this forum?!!?

Ailende dönme yada melezler varsa hepimiz senin gibi olmak zorunda değiliz kibrisli, nedir bu genelleme böyle:)
