Intransigent Eroglu Tears Up the Agreeement

Within 24 hours of having his arm broken and claiming to have accepted the Joint Agreement, Eroglu, the chap fluffing around the Occupied Areas calling himself some kind of muhktar, has already drawn back from the Agreement, a doc which makes no ref to Guarantees, by insisting on Guarantees...!!!

Here is how the Baycrap Propaganda site of the pretend "trnc" reports him...

"... Stating that he will take steps that will benefit the Turkish Cypriot people, he said the issue of guaranties is the red line and sine qua non of Turkish Cypriots.

“There is a decision taken by our parliament about the guaranties which is supported by all parties. For us the guaranties have vital importance” Eroğlu said. ..."

Got to credit our negotiating team for getting all our red lines in the statement and somehow missing out Eroglu's red line! :lol:

Obviously Eroglu missed the reference to the UN Charterwhich says 4.All Members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United Nations. Now my interpretation of that is that any form of guarantee that involves the use of force is excluded, in fact retrospectively it makes a nonsense of the 1960 Treaty of Guarantee.

what a lot of clap trap. the fact that they are not under discussion is a good thing. it means they will not change.

The reports in the press from a couple of days ago are that Guarantees were dropped by Turkey in exchange for the concession on Citizenship by the Republic.

... but no one seems to have told Frieko and the Sidelined Eroglu.
